Kindred Beekeepers

A contemporary hive of practice, where bees are teachers and beekeeping becomes relationship

You know the way you feel about bees is different than most.

Maybe you keep hives. Maybe you haven't started yet but the pull is already there, quiet and persistent. Either way, you've looked at the spaces that exist for beekeepers and felt, not unwelcome exactly, but unseen. Like the most essential part of why you care about bees isn't part of the conversation.

That specific loneliness, of sensing something sacred in the hive and having nowhere to bring it, is exactly what this circle is built for.

I know this path isn't mainstream. I've been walking it for fifteen years. And I also know that more of you are out there than it sometimes feels. People who want both the rigor and the reverence, who won't be asked to choose between loving bees well and loving them deeply.

This community is a response to you. To all of you who have longed for more  kinship and friendship.

Voices from Ariella's years of teaching:

Being part of Ariella's online beekeeping apprenticeship will forever be a treasured experience. The generosity of Ariella's teaching is full of deeply rich material on bee centered beekeeping that she beautifully weaves together with myth, story and ritual, helping us to remember — beekeeper or not — how much healing can take place from tending to a relationship with the honeybee and the natural world.

Kindred is newly opened. If you join now, you are part of the first circle:

In every class, I have felt seen and heard, as Ariella holds space for each person, perspective, and experience within the whole.
- Katie, Ohio

To be involved in a community that believes and relies on the wisdom that comes through the land, bees, and dreams as well as the knowledge that comes through lectures has been exactly what I needed to be emboldened as a bee guardian.

I'm Ariella

I started Kindred Beekeepers because over the past 15 years of beekeeping, I’ve met so many bee-tenders who felt alone in this path—people who wanted real, practical answers rooted in ecology and bee biology, but without the competitive tone that can dominate conventional spaces.
Kindred is my response to that longing.

My work is rooted in both reverence and rigor. I’ve completed the Cornell University Master Beekeeping Certificate program, and I bring a deep respect for bee biology, ecology, and careful observation to everything I teach.

more about me

frequently asked questions

No. All levels are welcome—curious beginners, brand new beekeepers, and experienced keepers alike. The community includes a range of experience, and you’ll find plenty of entry points through the monthly teachings, walks, and recordings.

Additionally, you will have immediate access to the Nectary. The Nectary is the membership library: a growing collection of courses, short videos, PDFs, seasonal resources, and recordings from our gatherings—so you always have something to return to as the season turns.

Do I need experience?

No. Kindred Beekeepers is a living circle—an ongoing membership with a monthly rhythm of gatherings, teachings, and community support. There will be learning inside it (of course), but it isn’t structured as a step-by-step curriculum.

Is this a course?

No, Kindred Beekeepers is for all genders.

Is this only for women?

Yes—your membership is month-to-month. You can cancel anytime, and you’ll retain access through the end of your billing period.
For annual memberships, you can cancel and your member will last the remainder of the year.

Can I cancle Any Time?

No. Kindred is built for people arriving at different stages. You’ll be guided toward simple starting points, and you can participate through observation, questions, and community—without needing to “catch up.”

Will I feel behind if I’m new?

You’ll still be able to participate. Live gatherings are recorded, and replays are available so you can join in your own time.

What if I can’t attend live?

The hive is open. Come as you are.
